A frequency-adjustable helical antenna using shape memory alloy

چکیده
There is a need to develop low-cost and compact frequency reconfigurable antennas with continuous tuning capability. Existing approaches rely on dedicated electrical, mechanical, or MEMS-based reconfigure the antenna, which requires extra components fabrication steps. In this paper, we propose physics-based approach realize tunable helical based shape memory alloy (SMA). By utilizing temperature-induced irreversible mechanical deformation of SMA, temperature-controlled antenna can continuously change its resonant lock state when desired response achieved. The height changes in applied temperatures. No additional circuitry modules are required for reconfiguration geometry. fabricated shift between 150 195 MHz sensitivity 284 kHz/°C.
